2. Eng. Abdul Karim Akkad- Chairman and Managing Director
   Engineer Akkad founded Al-Nasr International in 1992, due to a major need for a well qualified electrical and civil contracting firm in the Al Ain area. Eng. Akkad holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Damascus University in Syria. From 1977 through 1981, he served as Head of Electrical Maintenance Department for Iron & Metal Factory in Syria. Relocating to the United Arab Emirates, he worked as the Head of the Electrical Department for Peerage Marketing & Supply Establishment in Dubai from 1982 through 1985. From 1987 through 1989, he was employed by the Al Ain Municipality, and supervised all electrical work and street lighting projects for the Al Ain to Dubai Road. He also supervised the early development and maintenance programs for the Al Ain Traffic Signal and Roads Department. He served as an Al Ain Municipality Roads Department Service Engineer, and was a member of the Al Ain Municipality Garden and Mosque Department. From 1989 through 1992, Engineer Akkad worked as an Electrical Engineer for the Al Ain Municipality. Since founding Al-Nasr International in 1992, the company has installed more than 85 percent of all street lights in Al Ain Municipality, and more than 90 percent of all traffic signal cabinets and control electronics, along with providing 24/7 traffic signal maintenance and operations support under contract to the Al Ain Municipality. With more than 200 full-time employees, Al-Nasr International is a multinational company with operations in the United Arab Emirates and Oman, with access to leading edge traffic control systems and technologies. Eng. Akkad proudly served in the Army in Syria. Chairman Akkad is a naturalized citizen of Canada.

3. Mr. Iyad Z. - Financial Manager
   Mr. Iyad joined Al Nasr International as Financial Manager in October 2009. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Commerce with a Major in Accounting, from Tishreen University in Latakia, Syria. He also earned a Certificate if Computerized Accounting from Humber College in Toronto, Canada. He has more than five years of financial management experience with such firms as Al Noor Trading (Syria), Sunrise for Exhibitions & Conferences, Glamorgan University (UAE), Emirates for Pilgrimage Services, and Gold Link Telecommunication (Canada). He is very experienced in financial reporting, inventory control, cost reduction, and procurement practices. Mr. Iyad is a citizen of Syria.

4. Eng. Abdul Gadir Osman- Executive Director & Chief Engineer
   Engineer Osman is responsible for all company operations and projects in traffic signals, street lighting, electrical, and civil contracting. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Khartoum, and a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Power Engineering from University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom. From 1968 through 1969, he was an Engineer in Training for all sections of the Central Electricity & Water Administration in Sudan, which included low voltage power distribution systems and power station design, construction, installation, operation and maintenance. From 1969 until 1971, he worked as a Project Engineer for Al Showak, Sudan that included construction of 66 kilovolt overhead power lines and an outdoor power station at Al Showak. From 1971 until 1972, he was District Engineer in Umdurman Town, Sudan, responsible for operation and maintenance of 11kv and low-voltage network that included underground cables and overhead lines. From 1973 through 1997, he was Transmission Engineer for Wad Medani, Sudan that involved the operation and maintenance of 220kv and 110kv transmission lines from Damazeen Dam to Khartoum. In 1977, he relocated from Sudan to the UAE, and worked until 1982 as 11kv Network Construction Engineer for the Abu Dhabi Water & Electric Authority. With ADWEA, from 1982 until 1992, he served as Operations & Maintenance Engineer for the Baniyas Area of Abu Dhabi. From 1992 through 1998, he was Procurement / Project Engineer, in charge of the preparation of all tender documents for the procurement of all ADWEA tenders for Abu Dhabi. From 1998 through 2000, he served as Chief Engineer of the Al Hamad Group in Abu Dhabi, which is one of the prominent trading companies in the field of electrical distribution materials. Engineer Osman joined Al-Nasr International as Project Engineer in 2000, and was later promoted to the position of Executive Director & Chief Engineer. Engineer Osman is a citizen of Sudan.

   Eng. Muwaffak Tlelat- Senior Projects Manager
   Eng. Muwaffak Tlelat has more than 15 years of professional experience in Project Management in the Business to Business and Business to Government markets, throughout the UAE, Jordan and Oman. He currently supervises all Traffic Maintenance and Operations Services for the Al Ain Municipality. Prior to joining Al-Nasr International, he served as Program Manager and Head of Border Solutions Group for DATEL Systems in Dubai; Projects Manager for Dubai Technologies; Senior Systems Engineer for RayaTech in Dubai; System Analyst for Bin Majed Data Technology in Abu Dhabi. He is experienced in developing processes, organizing tasks and ensuring that they are completed on-time and on-budget. Eng. Muwaffak earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Tishreen University in Lattakia, Syria, and is a Certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute. Engineer Muwaffak is a citizen of Syria.

   History

8. Al Nasr International LLC was founded in 1992, by Engineer Abdul Karim Akkad, as an electrical and civil contracting firm. In 1998, Al Nasr expanded its scope of services to include traffic control electronics and solutions, by serving as the traffic signal contractor for the Al Ain Municipality. Al Nasr has also been heavily involved in the design and installation of low voltage power distribution towers and lines, street lighting systems, and has completed projects valued at more than 750 million United Arab Emirates Dirhams since 1992. The firm has eight (8) locations throughout the UAE, including Al Ain (4 locations), Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ajman (2 locations). In 2006, Al Nasr was appointed as the exclusive distributor in the UAE and Oman for Econolite, the leading North American provider of advanced traffic management solutions. In 2009, Al Nasr became the exclusive UAE distributor for Quixote Transportation Technologies and Capstone Turbine.
